Q&A

What is period poverty?

Period poverty refers to:
  • The inability to easily access or afford menstrual products, and;
  • Limited or inadequate access to menstrual health education cause due to an individual's socioeconomic situation

Our goal at Idaho Period Project is ultimately to close the gap by providing essential period supplies to those in need and end period poverty in our state through legislation and awareness,

How can I volunteer?

If you are a new volunteer, please complete our New Volunteer Registration form here.

Once you have registered as a volunteer, you will be added to our volunteer GroupMe message. There you'll be the first to find out about upcoming opportunities to get involved with the Idaho Period Project.

How can I help end period poverty?

  • Donate Monetarily: One-time or recurring donations are accepted

  • Donate Period Products: You can donate products from our Amazon Wishlist.

  • Host a Period Packing Party! Get some friends together and create period packs! This service project is not only so much fun, but is so helpful with supplying students much needed monthly assistance.

  • Host an event or fundraiser: This not only helps us distribute more period products across eastern Idaho, but brings more awareness to our cause.

  • Setup a donation box at your business or event! Contact us for details.

  • Join our Student Ambassador Program! Complete this short form and someone on our team will reach out to you.

Who receives our donations?

For all product donations that Idaho Period Project receives, period packs are assembled to distribute to school aged menstruators across eastern Idaho. Monetary donations are used for period products, marketing materials, and spreading our mission to widen our impact. We appreciate our donors so so much! We wouldn't be where we are today without them.

What products do you accept for donation?

We are currently in need of pads, tampons, liners, menstrual cups, and period underwear. All products must be sealed, individually packaged, unscented, and unopened. A complete list needed items can be found in our Amazon Storefront.
